Beatriz Cimadevilla Alonso holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Oviedo (2022), with a dissertation entitled A New Philosophy of Education: Animal Empathy. She is a faculty member and researcher (PDI) at the University of Oviedo, a member of the CULIVIAM Research Team at the University of Valencia, and an external collaborator at the University of La Laguna. Her academic work focuses on the Didactics of Artistic Expression in relation to animal rights. She studied Fine Arts and completed part of a degree in Architecture. She taught for more than thirteen years at the Higher School of Art of Asturias (ESAPA) and at the School of Art of Oviedo. Since 2017, she has taught at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at the University of Oviedo, where she has promoted pioneering undergraduate dissertations on Artistic Expression and animal empathy. She has delivered lectures and created specialised seminars aimed at rethinking society through environmental and animal empathy, including programmes designed for older adults in university settings. She is a pioneer in introducing respect for animals and the deconstruction of speciesism into the academic context through artistic expression.

Beatriz Cimadevilla Alonso es doctora en Filosofía por la Universidad de Oviedo (2022) con la tesis Una nueva filosofía de la educación: la empatía animal. Profesora e investigadora  PDI de la Universidad de Oviedo, miembro del Equipo de investigación de CULIVIAM, Universidad de Valencia y colaboradora externa de la Universidad de La Laguna, centra su labor en la Didáctica de la Expresión Plástica vinculada a los derechos de los animales. Posee estudios de Bellas Artes y parte de estudios de Arquitectura Superior. Ejerció más de trece años como docente en la Escuela Superior de Arte de Asturias (ESAPA) y en la Escuela de Arte de Oviedo. Desde 2017 es docente en la Facultad de Formación del Profesorado y Educación de la Universidad de Oviedo, impulsando trabajos pioneros de fin de grado sobre Expresión plástica y empatía animal. Es pionera en introducir el respeto animal y la deconstrucción del especismo a través de la expresión artística en el ámbito académico universitario.
Extensión Formativa: Ponente y Creadora de seminarios específicos orientados a reformular la sociedad desde la empatía medioambiental y animal en programas universitarios para mayores.
