Paloma Peláez Bravo is a Doctor in Fine Arts and a professor in the Department of Painting of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University of Madrid since 2004, she has been Coordinator of the Degree in Fine Arts UCM from 2014-2018 and is Director of the “Higher Course in Landscape Painting” organized by the Santa María de Albarracín Foundation since 2017. He has been part of 2 research groups at the UCM: ACIS group (Faculty of Philology) and “ECO. From the nature of landscape painting to the art of landscape thought” (Faculty of Fine Arts). Currently she is immersed in directing an emerging research group linked to her line of research: “Natural painting and its operational processes in the formation of pictorial space.” She has participated in 9 Educational Innovation Projects, being director of 3 of them, highlighting the direction of the last project: “Painting as a learning instrument-service of arboreal ecosystems on Avd. Complutense” financed by the Vice-Rectorate of Quality of the UCM . Since 1994 she has been developing an extensive exhibition tour with numerous individual and group exhibitions, both national and international; highlights its representation in “Comuarte" within the “International and Ibero-American Meeting of Women in Art” (Mexico) among others. She has obtained several scholarships related to artistic creation and several painting awards, including the second “Air Army Award” granted by the Ministry of Defense and Government of Spain. Her artistic production is closely linked to her teaching and research activity. This line of research studies the visualization and development of the pictorial processes generated in the field of nature and is focused on the education of the gaze through painting, on the knowledge of the space that surrounds us, as well as on emotional awareness and sharing of what is perceived in nature. Research lines: Painting from life / nature painting and its operational processes; Education of the gaze through landscape painting; Conformation of the pictorial space from different genres.
Paloma Peláez Bravo es Doctora en Bellas Artes y profesora del Departamento de Pintura de la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid desde 2004, ha sido Coordinadora del Grado en Bellas Artes UCM desde 2014-2018 y es Directora del “Curso Superior de Pintura de Paisaje” organizado por la Fundación Santa María de Albarracín desde 2017. Ha formado parte de 2 grupos de investigación de la UCM: grupo ACIS (Facultad de Filología) y “ECO. De la naturaleza de la pintura de paisaje al arte del pensamiento paisajero “ (Facultad de Bellas Artes). En la actualidad se encuentra inmersa en la dirección un grupo emergente de investigación vinculado con su línea de investigación: “Pintura del natural y sus procesos operativos en la conformación del espacio pictórico”. Ha participado en 9 Proyectos de Innovación Educativa, siendo directora de 3 de ellos, destacando la dirección del último proyecto: “La pintura como instrumento de aprendizaje-servicio de ecosistemas arbóreos en Avd. Complutense” financiado por el Vicerrectorado de Calidad de la UCM. Desde 1994 viene desarrollando un extenso recorrido expositivo con numerosas muestras individuales y colectivas, tanto nacionales como internacionales; destacando su representación en “Comuarte” dentro del “Encuentro Internacional e Iberoamericano de Mujeres en el Arte”(México) entre otros. Ha obtenido varias becas relacionadas con la creación artística y varios premios de pintura, entre ellos el segundo “Premio del Ejército del Aire” concedido por el Ministerio de Defensa y Gobierno de España. Su producción artística está íntimamente ligada a su actividad docente e investigadora. Dicha línea de investigación estudia la visualización y desarrollo de los procesos pictóricos generados en el ámbito de la naturaleza y está centrada en la educación de la mirada a través de la pintura, en el conocimiento del espacio que nos rodea, así como en la conciencia emocional y compartida de lo percibido en la naturaleza.
