José Manuel Teira Alcaraz is an expert in quality assessment in higher education, a researcher in theater studies at the Complutense University of Madrid, and a telecommunications engineer. He has built his career around quality in higher education and the performing arts. In the first field, he collaborates with various Spanish agencies such as Madri+d, AQU Catalunya and ANECA in the methodological area of the evaluation of higher qualifications and the granting of international engineering quality seals and is a collaborating professor of the University Master’s Degree in Evaluation and Management of Quality in Higher Education of the Open University of Catalonia. In the second sphere, he has published in prestigious magazines such as Acotaciones, Talía, Estudis Escénics, Actio Nova, Pygmalion, Impossibilia and Anagnórisis, and has coordinated the 5th Congress of Young Researchers in Theater Studies in collaboration between the UCM and the UNIR, with almost a hundred participants, and recently edited with Marga del Hoyo and Jara Martínez the volume Últimos theatrical circuits of the 21st century. He is currently preparing another co-edition of a work on contemporary stage direction and coordinates a monograph on stage technology and intermediality in the Connecticut College Theater magazine. José Manuel Teira Alcaraz es experto en evaluación de la calidad en educación superior, investigador en estudios teatrales en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid e ingeniero de telecomunicación. Ha desarrollado su carrera en torno a la calidad en educación superior y las artes escénicas. En el primer ámbito colabora con diversas agencias españolas como Madri+d, AQU Catalunya y ANECA en el área metodológica de la evaluación de títulos superiores y el otorgamiento de sellos de calidad internacional de ingeniería y es docente colaborador del Máster Universitario de Evaluación y Gestión de la Calidad en Educación Superior de la Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. En el segundo ámbito cuenta con publicaciones en revistas de reconocido prestigio como Acotaciones, Talía, Estudis Escénics, Actio Nova, Pygmalion, Impossibilia y Anagnórisis, ha coordinado el V Congreso de Jóvenes Investigadores en Estudios Teatrales en colaboración entre la UCM y la UNIR, con casi un centenar de participantes, y recientemente ha editado con Marga del Hoyo y Jara Martínez el volumen Últimos circuitos teatrales del siglo XXI. Actualmente tiene en preparación otra coedición de una obra sobre la dirección de escena contemporánea y coordina un monográfico sobre tecnología escénica e intermedialidad en la revista Teatro del Connecticut College.
